Nancy Mitchell went to Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia for 4 weeks. She visited most of the important sites, with the highlight being Angkor Wat. It was Lunar New Year, so there were flowers everywhere (see Lotus blooms below).
Every temple and many people had bonsai trees.
Linda Hardie and Terra Manton were WOWED by
seeing floats being constructed and viewing the 130th Rose Bowl Parade down Colorado Ave. in Pasadena, California.
The following day included a “walk around” to see floats up close.
The festivities were well worth a trip to sunny Southern California for a few days to start the 2019 year!
The theme for 2019 was depicted in all the floats.
Roses and orchids were in prominent display.
All materials on the floats were organic, with such minute elements as onion seeds and lentils, in addition to millions of flowers.
Nancy Mitchell joined two hiking tours with the Road Scholar Organization (www.roadscholar.org). She took these beautiful photos.
